My arms ache with longing,
—–My legs are weak from use.
My bed is cold and empty,
—–My mind swims with thoughts of you.

I sit alone in wonder,
—–Thinking of what we shared.
Knowing it was partially lust,
—–Feeling the love that flared.

To love a body only,
—–Is simply not enough.
I love the man,
—–His body,
—–His heart,
—–His soul.

I wrote this poem about a true lover in August of 2001.
