Time

Time, to me, passes as the day’s new birth
One moment is dark and then a great light
With flashes, we see our home on the Earth
Moving swiftly onward out of the night

Daily it comes for us, like it or not
Visions of time sliding out of control
Ever forgetting, we stand in one spot
Hoping we don’t have to pay all the toll

A blink of an eye, it’s over and done
The light fades out as death speaks our name
A tear is shed for the mother’s one son
Sweeping away the remains all the same

As the end nears, we see the hidden face
That opens interplanetary space
