A Writer’s Words

Writing does not always come as expected
And words flow at times like water over a great falls
Sometimes they appear in a manner so unexpected
But all are not destined to stay for the long haul

Some days when it is time to drop these words
They ooze at an achingly slow pace
The times you love are when they most afford
Your muse opens up starting the race

What is on the shelf in the store
Is more than just a simple story
It is much less than was written before
Yet not so little as to be boring

Planning sometimes helps the work come to life
While sometimes chaos is a much better teacher
Words are better than a sword sharp as a knife
As eloquent as the musical cadence of a preacher
